Sound

Nantathren play traditional and modern folk songs mainly from Scotland and Ireland. Their repertoire ranges from 'The Irish Rover' and 'Fields of Athenry' to 'Whiskey in the Jar'. But they also have a lot of less known songs as well as some instrumental tunes on their setlist.

Martin's voice, the guitar and the banjo may remind you of the Dubliners, while Jan adds a touch of The Pogues with his electric bass guitar.
Ivo contributes to the groove with his irish and bluegrass fiddle. Meanwhile Rebecca supplies a lot of variety with her whistle, flute and stings. Also her warm voiced singing complements Martin's low and smokey voice perfectly.
The many different instruments bring a new level of variety to Nantathren's music.

Besides club concerts and open-air gigs we also like to play at private functions. Many a wedding, birthday or other party has seen us play in the past.
