Still alive and kicking!
Nantathren is indeed still alive, though only just.
It's been a while since we were last heard of, especially on our webpage
here, but we're keeping it going.
Apart from very few concerts mainly at private functions we haven't been
playing much, mostly because Roger hasn't had too much spare time besides
school, work and his little child. That's also the reason why he has decided
to leave the band, if not forever at least for the moment.
So now Nantathren is down to two members, Sanna and Martin, to keep the
music going. It's still very folky to listen in on but it's by far less fun
for the two of us than it would be with some more musicians. That's why we're
looking for replacements of Roger's musical talents, as well as maybe adding
some other instruments to the band. That means we are looking for folkies who
play the bass and/or the banjo, but also whistle, mandolin or other folk
instruments would be very welcome. If a player of a string instrument plays the
guitar as well, that would be a big bonus for her/him. In the fashion of the
Dubliners, the Corries and the Clancy Brothers, being able to sing is in
principal a requirement in our band.
If this sounds interesting to you contact us through the guest book on our
page here or through e-mail! We're looking forward to hearing from you!
Also, if you plan scottishish or irishish events, feel free to contact us for
live music, as there are no new concerts planned that clog up our diary.
